About

Our Mission

Blacks United in Leading Technology International, with our allies, increases the representation and participation of our members in the technology industry by fostering their connection, development, and employment.

Merit-Based Opportunity for Everyone

BUILT International is united with the movement by several independent organizations, ensuring that the tech industry allows opportunities for everyone based on their capabilities, and not on how they were born. We are achieve these goals through our community-building events and growing media presence.

As the leading community of Black tech professionals, Blacks United in Leading Technology International works, with our allies, to build a future where people are not held back, overlooked, or eliminated based on a person’s race and leadership in the tech industry reflects these ideals. We are united with others as we do not discriminate based on gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, political affiliation or beliefs, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.

The Divide

We believe in a technology workforce that does not discriminate against anyone based on how they were born. A gap exists in the tech industry, as reflected in the statistics commonly used to reveal the likelihood of unconscious bias, overt discrimination or systemic racism, with those who  promote leaders, buy products, and invest in new technology ventures.
