The Challenge: A Tale of Two Divides
The Technology Gap
Recent studies show that while 73% of Fortune 500 companies have implemented AI solutions, only 18% of small businesses have adopted any form of AI technology. The result is a widening
competitive gap that threatens the long-term viability of these enterprises.
The Economic Development Challenge
Southern Dallas County has long been recognized as an underresourced region with significant untapped entrepreneurial potential. Small and mid-size businesses in this sector face
persistent challenges in accessing capital, technology resources,
and professional development opportunities. While these
enterprises represent the backbone of local economic activity,
they often lack the tools and knowledge needed to compete in
an increasingly digital marketplace.
urgency of now
The AI revolution is accelerating at breakneck speed, and waiting for traditional institutions means waiting too long. Every month of delay widens this competitive chasm, particularly for entrepreneurs in Southern Dallas who face the greatest barriers to technology access.
BUiLT has partnered with nonprofit, Small Business Support Systems, because proven technology leaders must act with the urgency this moment demands—before the digital divide becomes an economic death sentence.
